About Us
Seven years ago, my life changed forever. I know I’m not the only one but at 65, I survived a heart attack – a moment that left me shaken, unsure, and asking myself what I could have done differently. I didn’t have the answers right away, and truthfully, it’s taken me years of trial and error to reach the understanding I have gained today. This journey has not been alone as I have built my support and inspiration along the way.
I began my journey knowing one thing: if I didn’t make some changes, I might not be as lucky the next time. I had to figure out how to take control of my health, and I quickly realized there wasn’t one clear path forward. Recovery – and prevention – would demand a mix of learning, experimenting, and, most importantly, patience with myself.
A Journey of Discovery
At the beginning, I started small. I looked at my diet and began to see the impact that sugar, starch, and carbohydrates were having—not just on my weight, but on my overall health. I thought being active in my work had kept me in good shape, but I learned that even without carrying extra weight, internal fat could still take a toll. I had to dig deeper to understand how my body worked and how I could rebuild my strength.
When it came to exercise, I’ll admit it wasn’t easy to begin again at 65. I didn’t know which equipment or routines were right for me, and I often felt overwhelmed by the options. It took time—more than I expected—but through persistence and plenty of mistakes, I found tools and exercises that truly made a difference.
I learned that fitness isn’t about doing everything; it’s about finding what works for you and sticking with it.
Why Fitness Vanguard?
I created Fitness Vanguard not as an expert, but as someone who’s been through the ups and downs of starting over. I’ve learned that progress isn’t about perfection; it’s about finding small, meaningful changes that you can build on over time. I want to share what I’ve discovered about fitness equipment, effective routines, and strategies for staying motivated—especially for those of us in our later years.
My hope is that Fitness Vanguard can be a resource and a source of encouragement for anyone looking to improve their health. Whether you’re recovering, just starting out, or searching for ways to maintain your fitness, know that you’re not alone. This is a journey, and I’m still on it too.
Together, we can take the steps—no matter how small—that help us move forward.
Let’s learn, grow, and thrive.
